3 cups of sugar (1 cup)
1 1/2 butter flavored shortening
3 eggs
2 cups of milk
3 Tablespoons baking power
1 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon vanilla
8-10 cups of flour
- Cream the sugar and shortening until it is light and fluffy and a light yellow color.
- Add eggs and mix again until light and fluffy.
- Mix in milk and vanilla
- Sift together 8 cups of flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Add the flour mixture to the liquid a cup at a time.
- Mix for as little as possible until it reaches a soft cookie consistency.
- Refrigerate for 1 hour
- Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
- Roll out to 1/4 thickness
- Cut into cookie shapes.
- Cook for 6-15 minutes, until just done with very slight tan on the edges.
Makes about 10 Dozen
